I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize next month's bout.

Ex twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning massive earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
